The Cambridge Lawns Historic District markers are civic monuments that celebrate the entrances to this 1920's era neighborhood. The oolitic limestone obelisks are inspired by various examples of monuments and gates found throughout South Florida. They will feature a bronze plaque with the name of the district, and the project sponsors The Villagers.
The design process involved residents of the historic district who were invited to participate in a scale comparison of of the monuments. The project has been permitted and is currently out to bid. Thanks to the Villagers, Inc. for funding this project, and to the surveyors and engineers who volunteered their time.
